About the Localize Project

Welcome to Localize, a place that shines the spotlight on local food stories.

This is a place to share the narratives of local food producers directly in the grocery store aisles - right where you make your purchasing decisions.  The goal of this site is simple: connect consumers to products that support their local economy and create a dialogue about how their food was produced.

The Localize Project is testing ways to strengthen the relationship that food eaters have with food producers.  We provide shelf labels with the Localize logo, assign a product rating between 0-10 determining how local it is, and then provide the consumer with a QR-code link to our website via their smart phone.

Want to find out more?  Explore our website, or better yet, look for our Localize Your Food labels in your local grocery store and start shifting your spending to local.
