‘Healthier today than yesterday’ is the mantra that the Quinta team strives for with their high nutrient Quinta Quinoa products.
After learning the story of how this Guelph-based start-up company began, it became clear to the Localize team that Quinta Quinoa has an authentic passion for nutrition and quality. After losing a third of his pancreas to idiopathic pancreatitis, President and CEO of Quinta Local Superfoods Inc. and Katan Kitchens, Jamie Draves, developed a diet consisting mainly of Superfoods. Quinoa was essential in this diet, which drove his passion and pursuit to develop a local quinoa with the highest nutritional value in the world.
What we love is that Jamie didn’t just choose to dedicate his career to this ancient Inca grain; he and his team are committed to producing the highest nutritional quality quinoa product on the market, and it’s all grown in Ontario.
Katan Kitchens, the research firm devoted to the development of Quinta Quinoa, along with researchers at the University of Guelph, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and a number of other organizations, have committed over five years to developing a unique seed through natural breeding (non-GMO). This, in combination with the nutrient-rich soils of Ontario, have resulted in Quinta Quinoa nutrient levels being 2-4 times higher than quinoa from South America. Quinta Quinoa is the only quinoa on the market that qualifies for the 6 nutrient content claims listed below.
