Robbyn Scott and Mickey McLeod opened the doors to their first roasting cafe on Salt Spring Island in 1996. Salt Spring Islanders embraced their delicious coffee with open arms, and today, Salt Spring Coffee can be found in over 1,200 cafes, restaurants, and grocery and specialty food stores across Canada.
Truly committed to using coffee to do good in the world, Salt Spring Coffee is certified organic, direct trade, certified fair trade, operationally carbon neutral, 1% For the Planet member, and B-Corp Certified (read our B-Corp post here). Could you ask for a better cup of coffee?
The values on which Salt Spring Coffee were founded remain unchanged through their growth. Fairness to farmers is at the core of their business and they have always been active at coffee origin, working with farmers and cooperatives to improve coffee quality and to implement sustainable farming practices. They are dedicated to supporting the people and natural systems throughout the entire supply chain from seed to cup.
Year by year, cup by cup, Salt Spring Coffee is cultivating a world-wide coffee community devoted to change. You can find them at Country Grocer stores!
